Problem Set Workshops
Problem Set Workshops are 2-hour sessions where first-year students join their classmates to work on core problem sets in a collaborative environment. In each session, there is a trained academic coach (upper year student who has taken the core and excelled in the course) who will help review and provide tips on getting started. Students will focus on problem solving and collaborative discussion of the set. If students don't finish the set during the workshop, it's okay! Workshops for each course take place 2 days before a set is due, so students have more time to work on it if needed.
Essentially, it is a great opportunity to meet classmates and form study groups, as well as receive extra support from trained coaches.
Please see the flyer below for more info, as well as the schedule of pset workshops for the fall term.
For current first-year students, we would like to gather feedback on how problem set workshops are going. Have snacks or supplies requests? Not enough snacks? Sessions are too long/short? There wasn't a facilitator at a session? We welcome all feedback!
Please use this brief form to submit comments or questions you may have.
This form is open throughout the academic year, so feel free to input comments anytime. If you have any questions that would like a response, please include your Caltech email address and a staff member will get back to you.
