


First-Year Caltech Connector (FCC)
What is a First-Year Caltech Connector (FCC)?
FCCs are highly motivated and engaged undergraduate students entrusted with the responsibility of supporting incoming first-year students. As peer mentors, FCCs offer guidance, advice, and encouragement, helping new students navigate their transition into college life. During the orientation week (Sept 21-26), FCCs actively participate in social events, icebreakers, and team-building activities designed to foster connections among students and cultivate a sense of community and belonging within the Caltech environment. Beyond the orientation period, FCCs maintain regular contact with their orientation group, offering continued support and engagement throughout the fall term.
- Must be eligible to enroll for Fall classes and be in good academic standing with the Institute
- Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and willingness to collaborate
- Previous experience as an FCC is not required
